The concept of guided fishing has its origins in the Scottish highlands where Ghillies would attend to their masters and their guests on expeditions to lure the wily salmon from some of the most exclusive beats on Scottish rivers.
Coarse fishing guides have also been around for many years now and more recently carp fishing tuition has come to the fore and some well known professional anglers now offer carp tuition and coaching.
